In a strategic move ahead of the 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured state governors affiliated with the party of automatic nomination tickets, signaling a potential boost for party loyalty and internal cohesion. This announcement, which emerged from recent party meetings and statements by APC leadership, underscores the party’s efforts to consolidate power and minimize internal conflicts as the election cycle approaches.
The All Progressives Congress (APC), has promised all the Governors on its platform of automatic tickets as candidate in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
The National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje made this known during the Northwest Zonal stakeholder’s meeting in Kaduna.
The National Chairman assured that, on behalf of the National Working Committee, all the Governors would have automatic tickets due to their outstanding performance in thier respective states.
He disclosed that, it has become necessary for the party to support each Governor for a second term, just as they are also praying and hoping that President Bola Tinubu succeds beyond 2027.
Ganduge has described the APC as a political institution that has transformed the country beyond reasonable doubt.
The pronouncement for the automatic ticket of all the APC Governors was made after the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas requested that the party grants all lawmakers under the platform of the APC the opportunity to run unopposed in the 2027 elections.
He said at the National Assembly, they are committed to championing legislation aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda, advancing bills on infrastructure financing and development, security reforms, and incentives for the digital economy.
According to him, the support has been pivotal in passing landmark measures, exercising robust oversight over the executive and representing the interests of the citizens.
Tajudeen added that, with the 2027 general election approaching, they have resolved to intensify grassroots mobilisation, consolidate on thier legislative gains, and engage new constituencies, especially youth and women, through empowerment programs.
