The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has unveiled the Police-VGS Quick Emergency Reporting and Response System (QERRS) at the IGP Smart Conference Hall, Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The event was graced by dignitaries, marking the launch of a smart policing initiative aimed at revolutionizing emergency response and ensuring swift and efficient actions during critical situations.
The Police-VGS QERRS application has been meticulously designed to enable prompt response and referral in various emergency scenarios, including accidents, natural disasters, medical crises, criminal incident reporting, and intelligence sharing, among others. By simply swiping a button on their phones, citizens can trigger emergency notifications, directly reaching a dedicated team of police operatives.
These responsive teams will ensure a quick, coordinated, and live action to address the situation, reaching the scene in the shortest possible time. The Police-VGS app is a life-saving tool that can make a significant difference in saving lives, combating crime, and securing communities.
The Acting Inspector-General of Police emphasized that the Police-VGS is an additional option to the previously launched C4i-NPF Rescue Me App, showcasing the Nigeria Police’s unwavering commitment to the security and safety of the public. He wholeheartedly encouraged every resident of Nigeria to embrace this innovative technology, emphasizing its potential to substantially enhance policing services.
