As Muslims in Nigeria and around the world celebrate Eid-ul-Adha, Senate President Godswill Akpabio extended his warm wishes to the Muslim community, expressing hope that the sacred festival will bring peace, love, and unity to the nation.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio highlighted the significance of Eid-el-Kabir, emphasizing the values of sacrifice, compassion, and kindness.
“As we mark Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son, we must embrace the virtues of obedience, faith, and selflessness,” Akpabio stated. He urged Nigerians to uphold these principles to foster peace, understanding, and cooperation.
He acknowledged the country’s ongoing challenges and praised President Bola Tinubu’s economic and fiscal reforms. Despite their difficulty, Akpabio noted that the reforms are starting to produce positive results and will help secure a better future.
He encouraged citizens to remain patient, resilient, and dedicated to national progress. Akpabio also called on Nigerians to use the occasion to strengthen interfaith harmony, national unity, and development.
“On behalf of my family, constituents, the 10th Senate, and the entire National Assembly, I wish all Muslims a joyous Eid,” he added
