APC in Kaduna’s Sanga LGA Endorses Tinubu and Sani for 2027 Re-Election
GWANTU, Kaduna State – In a significant political development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sanga Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State has officially endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for second terms in office ahead of the 2027 general elections.
This endorsement, announced during a high-profile caucus meeting at the council headquarters in Gwantu, signals the party’s ambition to strengthen its foothold in a region historically dominated by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Sanga LGA, located in Southern Kaduna, has long been considered a PDP bastion, with the party maintaining strong influence in the area from 1999 to 2023. Despite this, the 2023 elections saw mixed results: Atiku Abubakar of the PDP secured victory in the presidential race statewide with 445,671 votes (about 40%), outpacing Tinubu’s 321,691 votes (29.16%).
However, Governor Uba Sani managed to clinch the governorship for the APC, polling 730,002 votes against PDP’s Ashiru Isah Kudan’s 719,196, while retaining influence in key areas like Southern Kaduna.
The endorsement was formalized at a stakeholders’ meeting attended by prominent figures, including Kaduna State Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, who hails from the region. Other key attendees included Hon. Ado Dogo, a three-term federal lawmaker and the governor’s political counselor; Hon. Gambo Dangana, the member representing Sanga in the Kaduna State House of Assembly; and Anto Usman, the Chairman of Sanga LGA.
The gathering also drew APC executives, former chairmen, elected officials, and various community leaders, all of whom expressed a unified resolve to “take over” Sanga LGA and expand the party’s reach in Southern Kaduna by 2027.
In a unanimous resolution, the APC praised the “people-centered developmental strides” and progressive policies under Tinubu and Sani’s leadership. Deputy Governor Balarabe, addressing the crowd, highlighted the transformative projects spearheaded by the current administration, particularly in rural areas. She pointed to the ongoing construction of the Sanga-Jema’a road, a major infrastructure initiative aimed at boosting socio-economic growth.
“We are witnessing a new era of development in Sanga and across Kaduna State,” Balarabe stated. “The governor’s emphasis on rural transformation is clear in projects like the Sanga-Jema’a road, which will enhance connectivity, stimulate economic activity, and improve the quality of life for our residents.”
Balarabe urged APC members in Sanga to remain united and work diligently to secure victories at both state and federal levels. “Let us continue to collaborate to achieve our shared goals and keep our party strong and cohesive,” she added.
Other speakers echoed her sentiments, commending Governor Sani’s administration for prioritizing Sanga in infrastructure development, economic empowerment, and key political appointments for local indigenes. Hon. Ado Dogo lauded the governor’s dedication, saying, “Governor Uba Sani has demonstrated a genuine commitment to Sanga LGA’s progress. The Sanga-Jema’a road project is a clear indicator of his efforts to uplift our communities.”
Sanga LGA Chairman Anto Usman also pledged full support for the governor, assuring attendees that the people of Sanga would reciprocate the administration’s investments. “We will stand firmly behind Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 elections because he has proven that he cares about our development,” Usman affirmed.
The meeting concluded with a strong emphasis on party unity, with stakeholders like Audu Adamu, a local APC figure, describing the endorsement as a pivotal moment. “This move underscores the APC’s loyalty to President Tinubu and Governor Sani, and our collective determination to work towards our objectives,” Adamu noted.
As the 2027 elections approach, the APC in Sanga LGA has vowed to intensify efforts to mobilize support, focusing on sustained development and grassroots engagement to challenge the PDP’s historical dominance in the region. This endorsement not only boosts the party’s morale but also sets the stage for a highly competitive electoral battle in Southern Kaduna.
