APP Withdraws Suit Against Tinubu

The Action People’s Party’s petition challenging the victory of President-elect Bola Tinubu in the February 25 presidential elections has been dismissed by the Presidential Election Petition Court.

The petition marked CA/PEPC/02/2023 was withdrawn by the party, resulting in its dismissal. The pre-hearing of the petition against Tinubu, the All Progressive Congress, and the Independent Electoral Commission was adjourned to Wednesday after the parties adopted their answers on Monday.

The party’s counsel informed the court of their intention to withdraw the petition on Wednesday, and the respondents did not object or oppose the petition or ask for a cost.

The court dismissed the petition following the withdrawal and no-objection by the respondents. Justice Haruna Tsammani, the presiding judge at the PEPC, declared that there was no collision on the part of the respondents, and the petition was dismissed.
