Army Chief Task Centre To Proffer Solution Better Army Operations
The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant Gen. Faruk Yahaya, has tasked the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre (NAHFC) to propose solutions to the shortcomings identified in the army operations.
The directive was issued on Friday during the inaugural lecture of Nigeria Army Heritage and Future center situated in Giri Abuja, with the theme “Preserving the Nigerian Army Heritage and future Development through Research Formulation of Pragmatic Solutions and Innovations”
On the Part of the Director General NAHFC Major General Kamil Kadiri the Nigerian army has a notable legacy and background that stems from the successful handling of the Nigerian civil war and various missions within and beyond the country. Nevertheless, Major General Kadiri notes that valuable insights from this history have not been utilized to enhance the army’s present and future operations.
Professor Abayomi Akinyeye, A professor of history from the University of Lagos, i his lecture titled “From Colonial Occupation to a National Force: Nigerian Army Past Experience, Present Reality, and Future Prospects” underscored the intricacies, behind the decade-long insurgency, observing that severed bilateral relationship with countries like France, has in one way or the other threatened the cooperate existence of Nigeria.
It is hoped that it becomes a loyal opposition, in tandem with the vision of Lt General Yahaya the Chief of Army Staff.
