President Muhammadu Buhari has launched the Nigeria Agenda 2050, which aims to increase real Gross Domestic Product growth by 7% and create 165 million new jobs throughout Nigeria.

The launch took place at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, just before this week’s Federal Executive Council meeting. The President stated that the vision is a result of a dynamic knowledge-based economy that will provide sustainable development by 2050.

He believes that subsequent administrations will find the document useful, as it aims to increase Nigeria’s per capita income to $33,328 per annum and place the country among the world’s top economies by 2050.

The Nigeria Agenda 2050 is a prospective plan designed to transform the country into an upper-middle-income country with a significant improvement in per capita income.

Additionally, a minute’s silence was observed in honor of the late Musa Gwadabe, a former Minister of Solid Minerals Development and former Minister of Employment, Labour, and Productivity, who passed away at the age of 86 on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
