Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), highlighted the significance of information as a critical element for the success of military operations. During a visit to the Army Headquarters in Abuja, the COAS expressed this viewpoint on July 11, 2023, when Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State paid a visit.

The purpose of the visit was to provide an opportunity for the Nigerian Army (NA) to receive feedback on the security situation in Kaduna State and the desires of the people for the NA to continue its operations in order to establish lasting peace and stability in the state.
Gen Lagbaja expressed gratitude to the Kaduna State Government for their support and partnership with the NA in the restoration of peace and tranquility. He emphasized that timely and accurate information is vital for military operations as it enables proactive actions by the troops.
Recognizing Kaduna State as a strong and dependable ally of the NA, the COAS acknowledged its special significance as the home of several military institutions and formations.
Gen Lagbaja commended Governor Uba Sani for being the first governor to visit the Army Headquarters since his assumption of duty as the 23rd COAS. He assured the governor and the people of Kaduna State that the NA will remain steadfast in its efforts to achieve sustainable peace and stability in the state.
Governor Uba Sani, in his remarks, congratulated the COAS on his appointment and expressed appreciation for his exceptional performance as the former General Officer Commanding 1 Division. He urged the COAS for increased intervention in addressing banditry and other criminal activities in Southern Kaduna.

The governor pledged the continued support of the Kaduna State Government to the NA and other security agencies in their efforts to combat security challenges within the state.
