The Commander Naval Unit Abuja Navy Commodore Oluseyi Oladipo has restated the commitment of officers and men under command towards an enhanced security and defense of the Federal Capital Territory and it’s environs.
The Commander made this commitment today 28 January 2025 ,when he paid a maiden courtesy visit to the Commander Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Adebisi Olusegun Onasanya at the Headquarters Guards Brigade Aguyi Ironsi Cantonment Asokoro Abuja.
In his remarks, Commodore Oladipo noted that Guards Brigade and the Naval Unit Abuja has always collaborated in area of security, regimentation as well as carrying out a host of other ceremonial task together which hitherto has led to close and better delivery of assigned task. He emphasized that more would be achieved with better synergy assuring of his readiness and dedication in that regard.
Commander Oladipo also appreciated the Commander Guards Brigade and his officers for the warm reception accorded him and members of his entourage while looking forward to a successful outing as he takes in the responsibility of steering the affairs of the Naval Unit in Abuja.
Responding, the Commander Guards Brigade Brigadier General Adebisi Olusegun Onasanya while appreciating the team for the visit congratulated the senior officer for his well deserved appointment and choosing the brigade as the first point of call on assuming command.
He recalled their days in the Nigerian Military school(NMS) and Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA), assuring him of the brigade readiness and commitment towards effective synergy that would showcase the Federal Capital Territory to the world.
Brigadier General Onasanya was optimistic that the new Naval Commander would succeed, considering his wide range of experience and knowledge, will surely and effectively discharge his responsibilities with both unit working as team to move the Federal Capital Territory and it’s environs forward in area of security for all residents.
The high point of the visit was the signing of the visitor’s register, presentation of souvenirs and group photographs.
