The Labour Party Governorship candidate in Enugu State, Chijioke Edeoga has spoken for the first time, barely twenty-four hours after losing the electoral contest.
Edoga who rejected the declaration of the PDP contender, Peter Mbah as the winner of the March 18 governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says his Party is heading for the Courts.
Edeoga told some select Journalists at his Enugu residence late Thursday, that he is disappointed with the supposed electoral umpire over the outcome of the election, after over forty-eight hours of deadlock in the collation of the results.
The Labour Party candidate is accusing INEC of not doing the right thing, despite what he called a sham review of the contentious results from the two Local Government Areas of Nsukka and Nkanu East, where there were alleged cases of election violence, thuggery and other irregularities.
Edeoga who polled 157,552 votes to be the first runner up against Peter Mbah who won after scoring 160,895 votes, insists that his party is in the process of challenging the results in the Court of law.
The Labour Party governorship candidate is however commending the Party’s supporters in the State for voting for a change, urging them to remain law abiding for the progress of Enugu State.
