Several Commissioners of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) have made serious allegations against the Executive Chairman, Muheeba Dankaka, during their appearance before the House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee. The committee, chaired by Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, is conducting an investigation into the mismanagement of personnel recruitment, employment racketeering, and the gross mishandling of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

The probe is set to encompass Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), as well as tertiary institutions under the Federal Government.

During the hearing, the Commissioners accused Muheeba Dankaka of engaging in nepotism, corruption, and displaying high-handedness in her role within the Commission. They claim that she has been involved in questionable practices, including allegedly facilitating the sale of employment slots to interested parties.

In response, the Chairman, Mureeba Dankaka, vehemently denied the allegations, stating that the Commissioners were making false claims against her because she refused to comply with their demands, which reportedly included selling employment positions.

Specifically, the Commissioner representing Delta State, Moses Anaughe, accused Dankaka of demanding a 10 percent kickback from MDAs seeking employment opportunities. Anaughe also accused her of favoring her own children by granting them “juicy” job positions within the Commission. Additionally, Anaughe alleged that Dankaka had signed appointment letters for 24 individuals who were not genuine employees, effectively creating ghost workers on the payroll.

The House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee will continue its investigation to ascertain the veracity of these accusations and address any potential issues of impropriety within the FCC, as well as within the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the Federal Government that fall under its scrutiny.
