The Minister of Environment Mohammed Abdullahi has called for sub-national governments to utilize the ecological funds allocated monthly for their intended purpose as it is an essential step towards mitigating the dangers of erosion in Nigeria. He stated this while featuring on the weekly briefing organized by presidential communications team in Aso rock villa, Abuja.

Abdullahi maintained that the funds should be utilized for erosion control measures, such as planting trees, building retaining walls, and strengthening river banks, among other things.
