The Honourable Minister of Defence, Dr. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has expressed confidence in the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) ability to fulfill its constitutional obligations during his visit to Headquarters NAF. Accompanied by Minister of State for Defense Bello Matawalle, Chief Defense Staff General Christopher Musa, Directors, and other Ministry officials, the Minister praised the leadership of the NAF under Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar.



He commended their collective effort in providing a safe environment for all Nigerians, free from intimidation. Dr. Abubakar noted, ‘The impressive teamwork among the various services is a testament to our strong leadership. I am also delighted with your guidance and how you have steered the Nigerian Air Force toward its remarkable successes.’



The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the substantial collaboration between the Ministry and the Services, which has been instrumental in achieving notable successes. He expressed his full commitment to providing the necessary support to help the NAF and other Services address the nation’s security challenges.


Prior to this, Air Marshal Hasan Bala, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), commended the Minister’s leadership skills and his contributions to progress in the defense sector. According to the CAS, ‘Your tenure has undoubtedly introduced purposeful policies and programs aimed at meeting the nation’s defense and security objectives.’ He also briefed the Minister on some of the significant achievements during his tenure, underscoring that these achievements would not have been possible without the Minister’s support.



CAS took the opportunity to express gratitude to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his unwavering support and commitment to meeting the Service’s needs. He assured that the NAF, along with its dedicated personnel, is steadfast in upholding democratic values and safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity. The CAS emphasized that this commitment translates into intensified air operations against terrorists and other criminal elements, curbing their operational freedom, and creating favorable conditions for successful ground operations by Nigerian troops. Additionally, CAS issued a stern warning to all enemies of the state to cease criminal activities or face the consequences
