The House of Representatives Committee on Population has committed to collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of a national census in the country.

During the committee’s inaugural meeting in Abuja, Honorable Jimi Odimayo, the Chairman of the committee, conveyed this commitment.

He emphasized that the committee is tasked with the responsibility of establishing a comprehensive and effective national policy concerning the country’s population statistics and demographic data.

Chairman Odimayo also stated that the committee’s mandate includes the development of strategies for implementing these policies, including securing funding from both domestic and foreign sources.

Additionally, he highlighted the pivotal role of performance oversight concerning the National Population Commission (NPC) and related agencies in the committee’s responsibilities.

The lawmaker assured that the committee is dedicated to leaving no stone unturned when addressing any matters referred to it, leveraging its expertise in addressing each issue comprehensively
