The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has issued directives for the reassignment and transfer of seven (7) Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs) to various departments, following their elevation to the rank of DIGs by the Police Service Commission.
According to the Force Public Relations Officer ACP Muyiwa Adejobi in light of the changes, DIG Bala Ciroma has been reassigned to lead the Department of Finance and Administration, while DIG Frank Emeka Mba will now oversee the Department of Training and Development, and DIG Habu A. Sani has been tasked with heading the Force Intelligence Bureau.
Additionally, DIG Usman D. Nagogo has been assigned to the Department of Logistics and Supply, DIG Daniel Sokari-Pedro will take charge of the Department of Information and Communication Technology, DIG Ibrahim Sani Ka’oje has been designated for the Department of Research and Planning, and DIG Ede Ayuba Ekpeji is set to lead the Department of Operations.
Furthermore, the IGP has approved the placement of AIG Oladimeji Yomi Olanrewaju as the Force Secretary, AIG Yekini Adio Ayoku will head the Police Mobile Force, AIG Idris Dabban Dauda has been posted to Zone 16 Yenagoa, AIG Oyediran Adesoye Oyeyemi will oversee the Police Cooperative, and AIG Benjamin Okolo Nebeolisa is assigned to the Department of ICT.
The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, conveyed that the IGP has charged the newly appointed and redeployed senior officers to uphold professionalism within their respective Departments, Commands, and Formations, while emphasizing human security and a people-centric approach to policing services.
