On July 18th, 2023, the Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, warmly welcomed the esteemed members of the Association of Retired Police Officers of Nigeria (ARPON) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
Led by its 1st Vice President, AIG Paul O. Ochonu (Rtd), NPM, and 2nd Vice President, CP Samuel Adetunji, Rtd, the meeting with ARPON under the Retired Officers Consultative Forum highlights the IGP’s commitment to forging strong ties with retired officers and utilizing their invaluable experience to fulfill the mandate of the Nigeria Police Force.

Recognizing the wealth of insights possessed by the retired officers, the IGP expressed gratitude for their presence and pledged to work closely with them to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the NPF.
To ensure streamlined communication, the IGP designated the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) as the focal officer responsible for handling issues requiring the Force’s attention. This appointment ensures a dedicated point of contact for ARPON, facilitating prompt resolution of matters of mutual concern.
The Inspector-General of Police remains resolute in his commitment to transforming the Nigeria Police Force and upholding the highest standards of professionalism. Through continued collaboration with retired officers and esteemed organizations like ARPON, the NPF aims to establish a solid foundation for a safer and more secure Nigeria.
