IGP Monitoring Unit Grills Suspected Officers Amidst Probe Initiated by Inspector-General

In light of allegations involving some officers of the Rivers State Police Command, including accusations of unprofessional conduct, kidnapping, name-dropping, extortion, and unjust enrichment, the Inspector-General of Police (Ag.), Kayode Egbetokun, has directed a swift and thorough investigation into the matter. These allegations emerged from a petition submitted by Mr. Israel Joe on behalf of Mr. Atubi Davison.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in statement said the officers implicated in these allegations are currently undergoing interrogation by the IGP Monitoring Unit as part of an ongoing investigation aimed at uncovering the truth behind these claims and determining the appropriate course of action.

The Nigeria Police Force regards these allegations with the utmost seriousness and is fully committed to ensuring a comprehensive and transparent investigation. To maintain fairness and impartiality, the complainant, Mr. Israel Joe, will be contacted to provide further pertinent information regarding the case.

The Inspector-General of Police issues a caution to the public regarding deceptive individuals who seek to exploit the reputation of the Inspector-General of Police and other senior officers for personal gain.

He encourages the public to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of anyone claiming to represent Senior Police Officers in any questionable activities. Any such reports should be promptly communicated to the Nigeria Police Force, the Force Public Relations Officer, or the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) desk in any state within the Federation.
