Kaduna PDP Condemns Bandit Attacks, Demands Immediate Government Action
Kaduna, Nigeria – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has strongly condemned recent bandit attacks that targeted communities in Giwa and Kajuru Local Government Areas, resulting in tragic loss of lives, injuries, and rustling of cattle.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the State Chairman of the party, Edward Percy Masha, expressed deep concern over the incidents in Kagara and Ugom communities of Giwa and Kajuru LGAs, respectively. He confirmed that reports indicated the tragic loss of two valued community members, Salisu Aminu and Stephen Alhassan, in what he described as “senseless attacks.”
The PDP did not mince words in criticizing both the state and federal governments, lamenting their perceived failure to consistently ensure the security and welfare of the populace. The party specifically called on the Uba Sani-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in Kaduna State to “immediately review its approach to protecting lives and property.”
Among the party’s demands were calls for the state government to “awake the dormant Ministry of Internal Security & Home Affairs to its responsibility” and enhance collaboration with federal security forces to tackle the persistent insecurity.
Mr. Masha also urged relevant state agencies, such as the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, to provide urgent care and support to the survivors of the attacks.
The Chairman affirmed the PDP’s commitment to holding the “inept APC-led government” in Kaduna State accountable for the safety of all citizens and communities. He appealed to the residents of Kaduna State to remain patient, stating that the party is working towards “ushering in a new dawn in 2027.”
Finally, the Kaduna PDP extended its heartfelt condolences to the families and communities who lost loved ones in the attacks and offered prayers for the swift recovery of those injured.
