The National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party (LP), Abayomi Arabambi, has claimed that there are inconsistencies in the credentials provided to the party by Peter Obi, their presidential candidate for the February 25th election.
Arabambi made the allegations on Friday during a press conference in Abuja
Responding to Peter Obi’s recent press conference addressing the controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s certificate from Chicago State University (CSU).
Arabambi claimed that he was part of the team that screened Obi before the Labour Party’s presidential primary.
He mentioned that the name on Peter Obi’s academic certificate from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), differed from the name on his NYSC certificate.
He also claimed that Obi is using a fake identity, that the name, Peter Gregory Obi is that of his brother killed by Drug barons.
”I was part of the people who did screening for him. In the form EC9, we gave him, he wrote that he attended the University of Nigeria Nsukka and he wrote that he finished his youth service but unfortunately, in the final submission of the form he only submitted his school certificate. So something is fishy and I want to say the name the school sent for mobilization was not what was written on his NYSC certificate and he knows that.
” The name, Peter Gregory Obi is that of his brother killed by the Drug barons. He belonged to Andy Okonkwo, IKB, group the early 80s. He should bring his birth certificate. Ask him who is Gregory. Rather for him to comport himself, he is telling us what he is not.”
He also expressed that his life is at risk for refusing to cancel the press conference.
”I have been warned not to grant this press conference by Mr Peter OBI and Julius Abure else I risk losing my life . The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Asiwaju BOLA Ahmed Tinubu to note that should anything happens to me and my family, the inspector General of Police must be put on notice that Mr Peter OBI and Julius Abure are to be arrested for my assassination. There is no need for any investigation as I will be silenced anytime soon by them.
I implore the IGP and the DG DSS to watch me closely so that I will not be killed for saying the truth”
