Nasarawa APC Slams Ex-Minister After Defection, Calls Him ‘Mole’ and ‘Liability’

Lafia, Nasarawa State – The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has unleashed a scathing attack on former Minister of Environment, Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, following his resignation from the ruling party. The state chapter described Abdullahi as an “untrustworthy politician” and a “mole,” insisting his departure poses no threat to the party’s standing.

Reacting firmly to the news of Abdullahi’s exit, the Nasarawa APC stated that his defection was a “welcome development” that would not negatively impact its structure or prospects for success.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Lafia, signed by the party’s state publicity secretary, High Chief Otaru Douglas, the APC conveyed a feeling of “relief and joy” over Abdullahi’s decision. The party claimed that his “overbearing influence” had been a burden and that his departure would now free the party.

“The APC is a winning team and has no regrets losing him. He was never an asset but rather a liability,” the statement declared.

The party noted that it had received numerous calls from the media seeking its reaction to the defection, which some had characterized as a significant blow.

Contrary to these external perceptions, the statement clarified the party’s position: “It is compelling, therefore, to state that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa state welcomes the resignation of Barr Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, former Minister of Environment, from the party. We are not surprised by this development, as his actions and behaviour had long indicated his disloyalty to the party.”

The Nasarawa APC concluded that Abdullahi’s exit was anticipated and would not derail the party’s objectives in the state.
