The Nigeria Police Force has issued a stern warning, asserting its unwavering determination to deal decisively with any individual or group that seeks to challenge the collective commitment and capability of the Force in ensuring peaceful elections in Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa States.
The statement was made by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, during a press briefing held in Abuja on Tuesday.
ACP Adejobi said the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, strongly encourages all voters, party supporters, and leaders to reject activities such as vote buying, vote selling, hate speech, misinformation, disinformation, ballot box snatching, and any other criminal actions.
The Force, in collaboration with other security agencies, is prepared to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that all violators of existing laws, particularly the Electoral Act 2022 (as amended), face the full weight of legal consequences.
Adejob said the Nigeria Police Force stands resolute in its commitment to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and maintain a secure and peaceful environment during the elections in the aforementioned states. Any attempt to disrupt the electoral process and violate the law will be met with unwavering enforcement and accountability.
