The Federal Government has chosen to commemorate the nation’s Independence Day Anniversary with modesty and simplicity.
Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, made this announcement while addressing state house correspondents following a meeting with Vice President Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He confirmed that the 63rd Independence anniversary would be observed with minimal pomp and ceremony.
In the meantime, the 21-day ultimatum issued by the leaders of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to the Federal Government, calling for an indefinite strike, is set to expire tomorrow.
In light of this, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation urged labor leaders to collaborate with the current federal administration and exercise patience with the President’s commitment to revitalizing the economy and enhancing Nigeria for all.
Furthermore, a 15-member planning committee was inaugurated on Monday in preparation for the nation’s 63rd Independence Anniversary
