The Nigerian Air Force is gearing up to commemorate six decades of unwavering service and dedication to safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity. Under the theme, ‘Nigerian Air Force at 60: Leveraging Strategic Partnerships in Aerospace Innovations for Regional Security,’ a series of events are slated to take place from May 14th to May 25th, 2024.
The highlight of the celebration will be a two-day International Conference and Exhibition, coinciding with the Third Edition of the African Air Forces Forum, scheduled for May 23rd and 24th, 2024, at the International Conference Centre in Abuja. This prestigious event will gather Chiefs of Air Staff from various countries, along with notable figures from the defence, aviation, and aerospace sectors, fostering dialogue and collaboration to advance aviation capabilities across the continent.
The pinnacle of the anniversary festivities will culminate in a Ceremonial Parade and Aerial Display at the NAF Base in Kaduna on May 25th, 2024. This grand finale will pay homage to NAF’s fallen heroes, honor surviving veterans, and reaffirm the force’s steadfast commitment to serving the nation.
Beyond these main events, attendees can look forward to a diverse range of activities, including a Research & Development competition, medical outreaches, combat sports competitions, and a flying-out parade commemorating recently retired NAF senior officers.
To ensure that the celebrations meet international standards while also optimizing costs, the NAF has engaged in partnerships with esteemed sponsors, both locally and internationally. This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to honoring NAF’s legacy and shaping a brighter future for Nigeria’s defence and aviation industry, as well as for Africa and beyond.
As the NAF embarks on this historic milestone, the nation and the global community are invited to join in commemorating 60 years of dedication, perseverance, and valor in service to the Nigerian people.
