In a significant development, the Nigerian Army (NA) and the British Government have affirmed their commitment to enhance collaborative efforts in personnel training and equipment acquisition. The agreement was reached on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, during a pivotal meeting between Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), and Mr. James Steven Heappey, the United Kingdom (UK) Minister of State for Armed Forces and Veterans, and his delegation.
The gathering took place at the Army Headquarters in Abuja, where both parties acknowledged the potential of their partnership in fostering knowledge exchange and technological advancement.
Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja emphasized the significance of the collaboration, citing the invaluable opportunity for the Nigerian Army to tap into the British Army’s extensive expertise across various domains.
