The Nigerian Defence Headquarters has unveiled the identities of terrorist leaders who were neutralized in the Northern region of the country by Nigerian military forces over the past three months. Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, disclosed these names during a press conference held in Abuja.

Maj. Gen. Buba stated that the terrorist commanders were eliminated in separate military operations conducted between January and March. Notably, among those neutralized were key figures from both the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Boko Haram.

The named terrorist leaders include Abu Bilal Minuki, also known as Abubakar Mainok, the Head of Is-Al Furqan Province (ISGS and ISWAP). Another prominent figure was Haruna Isiya Boderi, a notorious terrorist operating along Birnin Gwari Forest in Kaduna State and the Abuja-Kaduna Highway. Boderi was reportedly killed by troops on February 21.

Furthermore, Kachallah Damina was eliminated alongside more than 50 combatants on March 24. Additionally, Maj. Gen. Buba listed other slain terrorist leaders, including Kachallah Alhaji Dayi, Kachallah Idi (alias Namaidaro), Kachallah Kabiru (alias Doka), Kachallah Azarailu (alias Farin-Ruwa), Kachallah Balejo, Ubangida, and Alhaji Baldu, among others.

Maj. Gen. Buba emphasized that the remaining terrorist fighters and leaders at large are considered “walking corpses,” as the military is determined to neutralize them. He attributed the success in eliminating these terrorist leaders to synchronized operations between ground forces and the air force
