The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have jointly announced an immediate and comprehensive strike action in Imo State, effective from midnight today. This decision was reached during an “extraordinary” meeting of their National Executive Council (NEC) held today.
The strike has been prompted by the alarming events of last Wednesday, including the attack, brutalization, and physical harm inflicted upon NLC President Joe Ajaero and other labor leaders, in addition to other pressing issues.
In a bid to address their concerns, the labor unions have further resolved to declare a nationwide strike scheduled for Tuesday, November 14, unless their demands are met
