The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed over 28,000 operatives across the country to ensure a peaceful and secure Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
NSCDC Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Audi, issued a directive mobilizing operatives from several specialized units, including the Intelligence Directorate and Counter Terrorism Unit.
Dr. Audi warned of potential criminal activities during the festive period and stressed the need to forestall threats posed by unscrupulous elements. He called for enhanced intelligence gathering through community engagement and collaboration with other security agencies.
The NSCDC boss charged the 36 state commandants and the FCT Command to foster effective synergy with other security agencies and local communities. He urged private security operators to contribute by sharing intelligence and strengthening information networks.
The NSCDC aims to protect critical national assets and infrastructure, safeguard lives and property, and address security challenges such as insurgency, banditry, and kidnapping. Dr. Audi appealed to the public to support the NSCDC’s efforts to achieve effective security coverage nationwide.
