National Chairman Urges Reconciliation Among Aspirants for Unity

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has officially disclaimed the existence of any parallel primary election, asserting that only one primary was conducted, resulting in the emergence of Asue Ighodalo as the substantial 2024 governorship candidate for Edo State.

The National Chairman of the PDP, Iliya Damagun, issued this disclaimer during the certificate of return presentation ceremony held at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday. Damagun emphasized the unity of the PDP in Edo State and urged all aspirants to reconcile and work collaboratively for the party’s success in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

Highlighting that the PDP sees Edo as one entity, Damagun called for a united front to make the electoral journey smooth for the party. He further advised party members in Edo State and across Nigeria to remain focused on reclaiming the state for the PDP.

Damagun, while addressing party members, reassured them not to be distracted or perturbed by challenges posed by other political parties. He emphasized that the internal mechanisms of the PDP differ significantly from those of other parties.
