Delta State Police Command has arrested four suspected kidnappers and recovered N3.1 million from them. The suspects — Abubakar Alwalu (25), Usman Husseini (25), Adamu Mohammed (30), and Anwalu Umaru (23) — were arrested on May 12. Police intercepted them along the Kwale/Ozoro express road while conducting a stop-and-search operation. Spokesperson Edafe Bright said the Dragon patrol team stopped a Toyota Sienna bus carrying passengers from Ughelli to Asaba.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found N3.1 million in possession of the suspects. The kidnap victim later identified all four suspects to the police. Investigators discovered the suspects were part of a five-man kidnapping gang. They allegedly kidnapped a woman from her home in Ughelli and held her captive for four days. The gang reportedly received N4 million in ransom on May 11. Police say the investigation into the case is still ongoing.
