President Bola-Ahmed Tinubu recently convened his inaugural meeting with the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. This gathering brought together Governors from all 36 states of the Federation, providing an opportunity for fruitful discussions and collaboration.
The meeting was graced by the presence of several Governors representing their respective states. Notable attendees included Governors from Zamfara, Kano, Taraba, Kogi, Ogun, Nasarawa, Bayelsa, Adamawa, Ebonyi, Lagos, Rivers, Osun, Jigawa, Benue, Taraba, Delta, Enugu, Rivers, Oyo, Plateau, Kebbi, Abia, Imo, and Bauchi. Each Governor’s participation underscored the significance of the NGF and their commitment to collective decision-making for the betterment of Nigeria.
In instances where Governors were unable to attend in person, the Deputy Governors of Edo and Niger State stepped in to represent their respective states. This ensured that all regions had their voices heard and contributed to the discussions during the meeting.
The meeting also witnessed the presence of Vice President Kashim Shettima, who holds a crucial role in the government’s executive branch. Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), participated in the meeting as well. Their presence emphasized the significance of this gathering and the importance attached to the NGF’s deliberations.
