Sanwo-Olu Absent: President Tinubu Flags Off Reconstruction of Lagos Deep Seaport Access Road

Lagos, Nigeria – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday officially flagged off the reconstruction of the access road leading to the Lagos deep seaport. The ceremony, held in the Epe, Ijebu-Ode area of Lagos state, marked a significant step towards improving connectivity to the vital port facility.

Conspicuously absent from the event was the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by several high-profile dignitaries. Representing the Lagos State government was the Deputy Governor, Dr. Femi Hamzat. Other notable attendees included the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, along with various federal and state government officials and stakeholders.

The deep seaport access road is a critical infrastructure project aimed at enhancing logistics and trade flow to and from the port, which is expected to significantly boost the state and national economy. The commencement of its reconstruction is seen as a priority for easing congestion and facilitating smoother transportation of goods.

While the reasons for Governor Sanwo-Olu’s absence were not immediately clear, the state was represented by its deputy governor at the important presidential event.
