Senator Barau Jibrin claims APC will win by a landslide come 2027 Election

In a rousing address at the Northern West zonal meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin has commended President Bola Tinubu for his administration’s efforts, particularly the recent upgrade of colleges in Kano and Zaria to full-fledged universities. Speaking at the event, which was convened by Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani over the weekend, Jibrin expressed optimism about the APC’s prospects, forecasting a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections.

Jibrin attributed this anticipated success to the tangible progress made under Tinubu’s leadership, urging party members to foster unity and collaboration to solidify their position. “It is clear in 2027, we are going to have a landslide victory, inshallah. So let us continue on the way we are going,” he stated. Emphasizing the importance of teamwork, he added, “Let us continue to cooperate with one another, work with the president, work with everybody, cooperate amongst ourselves so that we have the desired victory.”

The senator highlighted the wave of defections from opposition parties to the APC as a key indicator of growing support. He linked this shift directly to Tinubu’s performance in tackling Nigeria’s pressing challenges, including security and economic issues. “This is not happening for nothing. There are reasons for this. What are the reasons? Number one is the performance of our dear president,” Jibrin explained.

Upon assuming office, President Tinubu inherited a nation grappling with multifaceted problems, such as widespread insecurity and economic instability. However, Jibrin praised the administration’s proactive measures to address these issues. In the North West region, where security threats have long disrupted daily life, significant improvements have been observed. “We’ve seen how he has dealt with our security problem—the security we’ve been facing in the North West,” Jibrin noted.

He provided specific examples to illustrate the progress. Previously inaccessible areas, such as Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State, are now safer, allowing residents to return to their farmlands and communities. “Several areas were not accessible before now. You could not go to some areas before now. But now you can go to some places, you can travel from Abuja to Kaduna. This was quite impossible before he came to power,” Jibrin said. While acknowledging that challenges persist, he described the efforts as “a work in progress.” He stressed, “It is easy to have problems, but it’s not easy to solve them. Mr. President is working hard, day in and day out, to surmount this country’s insecurity problem, particularly in the North West.”

Beyond security, Jibrin credited the administration’s economic policies for contributing to the APC’s appeal. He also commended the role of state governors and party leaders in driving these advancements. “The performance of our governors [is another reason]. Our governors are doing well, working day in, day out,” he remarked. Additionally, he praised the national chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for his leadership in unifying party members and fostering growth.

Jibrin called on all stakeholders to redouble their efforts, saying, “We are all here as brothers and sisters. So let us continue to cooperate amongst ourselves, work amongst ourselves, do all that is humanly possible to bring about the needed development to our people so that our party can grow stronger and stronger.” He suggested that the current momentum could lead to an unchallenged dominance for the APC, observing, “As we speak, it looks as if you don’t have any other political party in the country, or even in the northwest.”

As Nigeria continues to navigate its path toward stability and growth, Jibrin’s remarks underscore a narrative of hope and strategic optimism within the APC ranks. With elections on the horizon, the party appears poised to leverage these achievements to rally support and secure a resounding win in 2027.
