In a significant announcement on Tuesday, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas revealed the Legislative Agenda for the 10th House of Representatives, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to utilizing every legislative tool to meet the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians.
Titled ‘The People’s House,’ Abbas emphasized that the legislative agenda is grounded in the fundamental belief that the primary duty of lawmakers is to serve the best interests of their constituents. Despite recognizing the diverse needs and challenges facing the nation, Abbas expressed optimism that collaborative efforts with President Bola Tinubu would yield enduring solutions, setting Nigeria on a steadfast path of development.
Highlighting that the legislative agenda comprises eight critical issues, strategically aligned to provide legislative support for the executive’s eight-point Agenda, Abbas underscored the House’s commitment to working in tandem with the executive to address the nation’s pressing issues.
In praise of the House’s proactive approach, Senate President Godswill Akpabio lauded the unveiling of the legislative agenda. He assured that when the Senate presents its agenda, it will align with the priorities set by the House, ensuring a cohesive legislative approach.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, emphasized the importance of a focused and forward-looking legislature for the thriving of any democratic system.
