President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has given his endorsement to the appointment of Adepoju Caroline Wura-Ola (Mrs.) as the substantive Comptroller-General (CG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

Having served in an acting capacity since June 1, 2023, Wura-Ola, born to Mr. and Mrs. Olatunji Akinrinsola on July 13, 1963, in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, South-West Nigeria, now assumes the leadership role. She obtained her West African Examination Certificate from Christ Girls’ School, Ado Ekiti, in 1980, and later earned a degree in the faculty of Science from the University of Maiduguri in 1985. Subsequently, she pursued a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of Ibadan in 1987, and she holds a certificate in Paralegal Studies from Trios College Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Before her recent appointment, Wura-Ola held the position of Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) in charge of Finance and Account Directorate. Her professional journey includes various training programs at institutions such as Immigration Training School Kano, Immigration Command, and Staff College Sokoto, as well as the National Institute for Security Studies in Lower Usman Dam Bwari, Abuja, and specialized training in Emotional Intelligence and Transformation Leadership.

CGI Wura-Olu is a fellow of the Pass Command Course, a fellow of the Security Institute of Nigeria, and a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. Happily married with children, she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role.

Additionally, President Tinubu has also sanctioned the appointment of six (6) Deputy Comptrollers-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) effective January 1, 2023. The appointees and their respective Service Numbers are as follows:
