President Bola Tinubu engaged in a private meeting with top officials from the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Conducted within the confines of the President’s office on Wednesday, the meeting followed shortly after both labor unions peacefully demonstrated in Abuja, expressing their concerns regarding the recent government decision to remove subsidies.

While the specifics of the confidential meeting remain undisclosed, Joe Ajaero, NLC’s President, shared that the President conveyed his stance and undertook certain commitments. These commitments align with both the National Assembly’s position and their forthcoming document outlining their planned course of action.

Ajaero emphasized that the commitments made by the President during this meeting surpassed the remarks he had given in his recent nationwide address.
