President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to creating opportunities for youths and providing them with the necessary support and resources to succeed, as outlined in the National Youth Development document. This statement was made during the Nigeria Police Force Youth Summit 2024 in Abuja, in commemoration of the United Nations International Youth Day.

The President, represented by the Minister of Youth, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, emphasized the importance of youth engagement in national security efforts. The event, themed “Enhancing The Nigerian Youth’s Value for National Security Intelligence,” aimed to encourage youth participation in national security, highlight their contributions, and address challenges facing the nation.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, also expressed his belief in the vital role of Nigerian youth in achieving national security and sustainable development.

Keynote speaker Prof. Lanre Fagbohun emphasized the importance of youth inclusivity in national security, proposing reward systems for youth development and sponsorship programs to foster national growth.

A panel discussion allowed youth representatives to voice concerns and seek solutions to the nation’s challenges.

The insights and ideas generated at the summit are expected to significantly contribute to national security intelligence and youth development.

Key figures in attendance included the Honourable Minister of Police Affairs, represented by Permanent Secretary Mr. James Sule, and National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, represented by Maj. Gen PP Malla.

Youth leaders from various organizations, along with dignitaries such as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), and representatives of service chiefs and paramilitary organizations.
