Aliyu Audu, the former senior special assistant on public affairs to President Bola Tinubu, has vowed to oppose the President’s re-election bid in 2027.
Audu, who recently resigned from his position, revealed that although he served as a spokesperson for Tinubu, the President never granted him a one-on-one meeting during his nearly two-year tenure.
During an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Audu criticized Tinubu for meeting with Afrobeat artist Davido and Lagos politician Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor), while consistently denying him access.
“I worked for the President for almost two years without a personal meeting. Yet he sat with Davido, who insulted him just weeks earlier, and Jandor, who didn’t even place second in the Lagos election. It’s illogical,” Audu said.
Just five days before Audu’s resignation, President Tinubu hosted Davido and his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, at his private Ikoyi residence in Lagos. Earlier in March, Tinubu also met with Jandor, shortly after the PDP politician resigned from his party.
