Troops and Hunters Kill 5 Boko Haram in Borno

Troops and local hunters repelled a Boko Haram attack in Warambe village, Gwoza LGA of Borno State, killing five terrorists.

Warambe, a newly resettled community, has faced repeated infiltration attempts by Boko Haram fighters.

The chairman of the hunters confirmed that the terrorists stormed the village around 6 a.m. on Friday. “My team overwhelmed the attackers and killed five of them,” he said. “We recovered arms and ammunition now held by the military.”

Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC, Borno South) praised the security forces for their rapid response to the attack.

“I’m pleased to report that five Boko Haram members were neutralised in Warambe,” he stated. He also commended the hunters and troops from Operation Hadin Kai for their swift deployment to the area saying the operation led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles and ammunition, now in military custody.
